Srinagar, Dec 09 (KNO): Jammu and Kashmir has pending liabilities of Rs 198.10 crore under the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (MGNREGS) as of the first week of December 2025, Ministry of Rural Development said in Lok Sabha.
The data according to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) shows that the UT’s pending wage liabilities stand at Rs 6.10 crore, while material component arrears are significantly higher at Rs 192.00 crore.
The ministry further informed the parliament that wage payments under MGNREGS are credited directly to workers’ accounts through DBT and that all admissible wage dues up to FY 2024–25 have been cleared, except for West Bengal.
It added that 97.96 percent Fund Transfer Orders (FTOs) in the ongoing financial year 2025–26 have been generated within the mandated 15-day period from muster roll closure.
“J&K must submit proposals for material and administrative components, based on which the Centre releases funds in tranches considering labour budget, demand for work, utilization, and pending liabilities,” the ministry said.
It also encouraged the states and UTs to use the NREGASoft MIS portal for real-time monitoring of wage delays and pendency—(KNO)
